Fifty Shades of Gratitude BY DR. PMA
Have you ever been grateful for the fresh air that blows in your face when you open your window first thing in the morning? A sip of coffee from a nice customized mug, a delicious home-cooked meal, your favorite restaurant or a tall glass of water on a sunny day?
Have you been grateful for the enjoyment of someone combing your hair, jokes that make you laugh out so loud that your ribs are cracking or trains arriving at the train station as soon as you do.
The unexpected warm smile from a stranger, love in unexpected places or moments you don’t want to share with anyone in the world.
There are countless simple things to be grateful for and being grateful for them is the beginning of happiness.
I talk about simple things, yet what about the big issues of life?! What makes a man, a woman, a boy or a girl keep awake at night. What’s my response to someone who has just been raped, lost a loved one(s) or going through a divorce?
What about someone who just lost a business deal, frustrated in ministry or in a season of dryness, sickness or financial challenges?
There are pains in this life that no one can explain except the one who is going through the pain. All I know is, everyone has his or her own fair share of things to deal with and God won’t leave anyone of us without a prayer point.
